LA ROSA SELECTIONS CURRENTLY OFFERING:

UVANERA | DOC TINTILLIA DI MOLISE ROSSO (100% TINTILLIA)

RISERVA. | DOC TINTILLIA DI MOLISE ROSSO RISERVA (100% TINTILLIA)

UVANERA TINTILIA:

When young, it has an intense ruby red color that changes to a garnet hue with aging.
On the nose it presents a very respectable aromatic set, mainly focused on very elegant spicy notes. To the taste it has good body, evident tannins and a good retro olfactory persistence.

TINTILIA RISERVA:

Cantina di Remo’s Tintilia Riserva spends two years in oak. In the glass it is deep ruby. On the nose, the aromas take time to develop after the pour. On the palate, the wine is complex, mixing the fruity and savory. Robust flavors are immediately apparent; black and red plum, forest floor, and leather. On the palate, balanced and integrated, an aggressive red wine with notable acidity, mouth-coating tannin, and length. A serious red dinner wine to enjoy now or age for many years.

The Cantina di Remo tells a distinctly Italian story:

The "Cantina di Remo" is a farm of about 10 ha located in the territory of Ferrazzano in the province of Campobasso, Molise. In a story of reverse migration, Remo and Elise de Stefano returned from the factory town in which they had worked to their rural roots. Their son, Roberto, a trained wine-maker planted the first Tintilia in 2005. His goal was to create a product that had the taste and smell of the rustic and resistant ancient vine using modern techniques that guarantee its sincerity. In 2012-Cantina di Remo bottled the first vintage of Uvanera Tintilia doc del Molise to convey the intensity and strength and body of the wine, which begins to make itself known as one of the best in Molise.

About the varietal- Tintilia: Tintilia is a vine of medium vigor and moderate productivity, the yield must not exceed 80q / ha, the production per plant varies from 2 to 3 Kg / plant. It resists the cold, diseases and molds well; it is hardy. The bunch is sparse and winged of medium-small size with ovoid berries, pruinose and consistent skin of a bluish-black color easy to detach, slightly aromatic flavor. The harvest period, depending on the season and the area of cultivation, begins around the middle of September and ends in the first ten days of October. When fully ripe, the pulp of the berries tends to darken. The Tintilia grapes give rise to a unique and easily identifiable wine that must be vinified in purity (without adding other grapes or wines from other vines).

Cantina del Remo's vineyards are at 600 meters about sea level, the soil a clay mixture of medium density. The training system is Guyot, the harvest is by hand and is completed in early October. The juice is fermented for nearly four weeks at an average temperature of 27 degrees celsius, and then matures in stainless steel for 15 months followed by 12 months in bottle.
